About I VOCI

I Voci is a unique choir based in Perth, Australia, whose purpose is to fill a need for young enthusiastic singers to express themselves through quality choral music. Coming from a large variety of backgrounds, its members find unity in the common desire to share their passion for music with others, while at the same time learning new skills and extending their own abilities.
To this end, I Voci performs in several annual concerts, produces recordings, participates in competitions, and has even gone on tour abroad a number of times.
I Voci is a non-fee-paying, audition-based choir that welcomes young talent and actively seeks opportunities to get involved in the community.

JOHN CHRISTMASS

Leading the choir on its exciting journey has been
Mr. John Christmass, the steadfast Musical Director and brainpower behind this exceptional group. In 1978 Mr. Christmass established the choir in response to a request from his music students. Since then he has passionately worked to build I Voci's reputation to that of Perth's most outstanding youth choir.

John has enjoyed a life-long musical career, conductor, and performer, enriching the lives of millions of people both at home in Western Australia and further afield. With a eye for detail, all of his work, whether it be with choirs, orchestras, or high school students, is always of the highest standard, and audience members are always delighted to head that yet another Christmass production is on its way.

After thirty years of conducting I Voci, putting on more concerts that the average person attends in a lifetime, Mr. John Christmass is showing no signs of slowing down, and whole-heartedly invites one and all to come and enjoy the quality, drive, and passion that
I Voci represents.

MEMBERSHIP - NO FEES

Membership is by audition for singers in the age range of 16 to 30. Very good sight reading skills are essential. We meet every monday night from 7:00 to 9:30pm. There are no fees and music is supplied free of charge.

An Audition includes:
- An aural test for vocal range and tonal quality
- A sight reading exercise
- Performing two short classical songs -
one to be A Cappella

THE PIANIST

We are currently looking for a pernament pianist - Enquire here . I Voci perform a large variety of A Capella music, but where would we be without our talented pianists that have been with us throughout the years for performances and more importantly for rehearsals.
